The Department of Communicative Disorders operates the Central Mississippi Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic to facilitate the clinical education of students in speech-language pathology, facilitate faculty-student research, and to provide services to person with speech, language, cognitive, swallowing and/or hearing disorders in Jackson and the surrounding counties.
M.S. in Communicative Disorders
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Communicative Disorders education program in speech-language pathology residential program at Jackson State University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.
Students who successfully complete the program will meet the academic and clinical requirements for (a) the license granted by the Mississippi State Department of Health, (b) the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology awarded by ASHA, and (c) Standard Educator License Speech Pathologist (Class AA) awarded by the Mississippi State Department of Education.
